All of Mo’ Funk Designs jewellery is designed and created by Maureen Funk.
I’ve been creating jewellery for 9 years. I began making pieces for myself and friends and family. It didn’t take long for me to start dreaming of selling to a larger audience. I work full time as a teacher and spend much of my spare time creating my handmade pieces.
I love working with glass beads of all shades and colours. I think my love of glass started when I was young and my aunt let me play with her empty WW2 era perfume bottles. Now the assortment of colours and hues is simply amazing. I’m like a kid in a candy store when I go shopping for more. Sometimes I think I’m just replenishing old stock, but when I get home and look at what I think is a random assortment I see new possibilities. I feel the same affection for stones, semi-precious in particular. I love the earthy, natural colours.
In the spring of 2009 I was able to make a pilgrimage to the mecca of jewellery creation. Tucson in February is filled with stone, gem, and jewellery supply shows…. really. We only went to two shows and I was constantly picking my jaw off the floor.

Discovering and setting up a shop on ETSY has been as or more important in the life of Mo’ Funk Designs. I look forward to creating, listing and selling more, much more. An extra bonus to joining ETSY has been the discovery of new fellow creators.
I look forward to continuing this journey and can’t wait for the experiences and adventures that are waiting just around the corner.
