This post is a bit different from my usual ones, but I just had to share my delicious weekend dinner. Last night I needed an easy dinner. I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity for these Raven Cream Ale Pork Sausages (Natural&Nitrate Free). They were ordered a while ago through spud (home delivery of sustainable groceries), but are from Two Rivers Specialty Meats.
The Two Rivers are committed to raising animals ethically and naturally, while farming the land sustainably. They are a purveyor of fine meats including beef, pork and others that are free of antibiotics, hormones and chemical feed additives. In addition to providing the finest protein products available, their goal is to strengthen the connection between producers and consumers. They believe that people should know where their food is coming from and that it was produced ethically and naturally.

I love the way Jamie Oliver cooks, and I believe he calls this a ‘tray bake’. It’s awesome and so easy, cut pieces of carrot, onion, peppers, new potatoes, and a few cloves of garlic. Everything is tossed with olive oil, salt and pepper and baked at 400F, for about 40 min. (I do 20 min. checks) I wanted to use up some asparagus so I baked them separately with orange slices and a orange, mustard dressing. I put the asparagus in later, but they were still cooked a bit more than I would have liked. Regardless, the flavor of the whole thing was amazing and really only two pans to clean up.

YUM!!! that looks simply delish, and thanks for letting me know about the sausages (natural and nitrite free)…I’m always on the lookout for these types of sausages for the kids…and never seem to find any at the regular grocery store.
