If you follow basically anything fashion you might have heard about this amazing man, and the new documentary that features his life and work. I’m a sucker for a fashion documentary, having seen The September Issue, and Valentino: The Last Emperor. I love street style photography, where I think you get a more realistic glimpse of fashion. Well Bill Cunningham was one of the first, remains one of the best, and now we get to see his story, Bill Cunningham New York. I can’t wait.
If you have a chance, please watch this movie. This is about a man, who at 80, is dedicated to his passion and work, and who treats everyone with respect. His principals have guided his personal and professional life. Bill puts the idea of fashion, cut, line and design, above all else. He is not motivated by money or driven by the possible celebrity or wealth of his subjects. He knows exactly what he wants and he goes for it. We can learn so much from this rare individual.
