If you haven’t noticed already I’m a little into shoes. These are two pairs of the most recent. I’m loving the crisp bright greens and blues of course. Our weather has finally turned a corner, this weekend was glorious. I’m looking forward to wearing these.
Shoes: both Bamboo from Lulu*s
This Friday is our staff Christmas party. I always look forward to spending time with my colleagues away from work. I’ve worked with most of them for five years now & we always have fun. I plan to wear something a bit out of my comfort zone, whether I will or not is another story. Below is one idea. I would love to walk in, confident in heels, edgy with a leather jacket. In reality I’ll probably default to my comfort zone with ballet flats, a comfortable t-shirt, & a sweater. If I could figure out how to take cute outfit pictures I would take a few shots to show you, I’m still working on that. At the very least I can take a shoe shot & you can guess the rest. But before I can get to Friday night, I have to get through the week. It’s going to be busy one with something on almost every night, wish me luck. I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to the holidays already.
Thanks to a recent buy at my ETSY shop I’ll be sending a large parcel in the mail tomorrow. I need to send two business emails both to decline potential opportunities. One is just a bit too much and the other seems too good to be true. On the bright side look for a future post on the upcoming poppytalk handmade market I’ll be participating in. I’ve had some amazing support & words of wisdom from my small online community, of which I’m so thankful.
Have a wonderful week everyone.
Today was a pretty good day, despite the pouring rain. It was really bad, I mean it was torrential, and required my new trench coat. Yay! Now I’m not usually one to enjoy having my picture taken, and even less likely to post it on the internet for the whole world to see. I’m trying to push myself beyond my comfort zone and the results don’t make me totally cringe, well maybe just a little. The photographer, my colleague David, did a great job, but I may need to bring my tripod next time. After a little editing and playing in photoshop I have a post about what I wear when it both rains and pours.
My Look – Boots: Dixon Short Boots, J.Crew, Jeans: Women’s UlraFit Slim Leg Denim, Land’s End, Top: Jay Manuel Attitude, Sears, Coat: Trench Coat, Mark’s Work Wearhouse, Scarf: unknown
It’s a little enlightening and yet odd, looking at yourself in this manner. When I put on these jeans they feel, quite skinny and snug and yet here they don’t look like it here. (Real skinny jeans might feel positively claustrophobic) I’ve rolled them up a few times, but could maybe try a little more, or just one big turn to show more of my pretty J. Crew boots. I’m not sure I will ever tie this coat again, it’s probably not a look I should repeat. Overall I’m pretty happy with the ensemble and it was quite functional in the pouring rain that made it’s first, but likely not last appearance this fall.
How high should the jeans be rolled? Hmm, comments?
