After Christmas I was keeping a little secret from you. I applied and was accepted to help jury blogs nominated for the Ninjamatics’ 2012 Canadian Weblog Awards. It was a great experience that I thoroughly enjoyed and I’m proud to be in the company of the other jurors. It was very insightful to see the criteria used to compare the nominated blogs, to learn to look with a more critical eye, and aren’t we all always striving to improve. For a list of 2012′s winners go to Ninjamatics’ 2012 Canadian Weblog Awards Winners. Nominations are open for 2013, so drop by and have a look.
Thanks Elan, for having me.

I remember these from my childhood & recently convinced my mom to let me have them. I love that this beautiful, vintage, Danish design was part of my childhood and the memories associated with it. Oh and don’t worry, I’ve got my eye on several other pieces too.

details Polyvore: alt design summit
It’s that time of year & I’m missing out again. It’s time for the Alt Design Summit. Now, I could feel bad & sorry for myself, but I have really good friends who are there, so I can enjoy it through there eyes, tweets, and picture. I’ve learned some things about myself over the holidays and set some goals as a result, therefore, I plan to be learning and having fun in Utah this time next year. I hear it’s very snowy in SLC, so let me show you what I would wear both outside and inside at alt. What do you think ladies? See you next year.

Love Transforms is Poppytalk‘s latest handmade market. Mo Funk Designs is honoured to be a part of it again.

This lovely lookbook is truly romantic thanks to the gorgeous engagement photographs taken of Adelene & Ji at Machu Picchu, Peru, by the super talented PNW photographer James Moes.
Gorgeous!

Feeling dragged down with these cold, damp, overcast days? Me too. I’m so ready, and feeling the need, for something light, bright, and airy. These new Swedish country pieces from Ikea are just what I need. They make me want to paint my walls, rip out old carpets, and spring clean.
These images make me think of the Swedish movie Fanny and Alexander. If you have a chance to watch it, you must do it. Enjoy it on a dark Sunday afternoon, under a cozy blanket with a cup of coffee.
While I love the traditional textiles and images above, I also love this modern take on classic blue and white china. Think 21st century Royal Copenhagen.
If you’re feeling the January blahs, take a trip to Ikea to see what’s new.
